Clogged gutters overflow, pulling water down your siding and into your foundation. They also become heavy with wet debris, pulling gutters away from fascia. Gutter guards eliminate the constant cycle of cleaning – but only if you choose the right design. At Wichita Roofing Pros, we install stainless steel micro-mesh gutter guards that block shingle grit, seed pods, and leaves while allowing full water flow even during Wichita’s hardest downpours.
Why micro-mesh? Foam inserts and brush guards clog with fine debris (pine needles, cottonwood seeds) within months. Plastic snap-in grates warp in the sun. Micro-mesh stainless steel (with apertures smaller than a grain of rice) stops everything except water. Our guards are installed under the first course of shingles (or over the roof edge) and attach securely to the gutter lip – no lifting or popping out.
After installation, most homeowners can go 3–5 years between gutter cleanings, with only a light hose rinse needed annually to clear any accumulated dust or pollen. We also offer a maintenance program where we inspect and rinse guards once per year. For homes surrounded by mature trees, guards are the single best investment you can make to protect your gutters and foundation.
Old debris is removed entirely from gutters and downspouts before any guard is installed – no point in covering a clogged gutter.
We check for leaks, sagging, or loose hangers. Minor repairs (resealing seams, adding hangers) are included at no extra charge.
Stainless steel micro-mesh panels cut to length, attached to gutter lip, and secured under shingles or against the roof edge – no exposed fasteners.
If your downspouts have no leaf guards, we add a small screen at the top to catch any debris that somehow gets past the micro-mesh.
.023″ stainless steel woven mesh with apertures under 500 microns. Blocks shingle grit, pine needles, and seeds. Lifetime warranty against rust or failure.
Lighter-duty aluminum mesh – good for moderate debris but less durable than stainless. 10-year warranty. Lower cost.
Solid hood design that directs water around a curve while debris falls off. Works well on steep-pitch roofs. More expensive and can be overwhelmed in heavy rain.
Budget option – large openings (1/4″+) that allow fine debris through. Not recommended for Wichita's cottonwood and oak debris. We offer only as a temporary solution.
We clean all debris from gutters and downspouts, flush with water, and inspect for any repairs needed before guard installation.
Stainless steel mesh rolls are cut to the exact length of each gutter section. Panels are trimmed around downspout openings and corners.
Panels are inserted under the roof shingles (or against the roof edge) and snapped or screwed into the gutter lip – secure against wind and snow.
We run water from the roof peak to confirm flow through the mesh and into downspouts. No overflow, no pooling. Cleanup of any debris.
